He will be owned. He was and is a joke and some of those hungry young pups will drive him out rather quickly.

He is one tough dude. I think he definitely has potential to do well.

he’s gonna get killed! he’s a street thug.

Sounds OK to me…. he’s basically an unskilled amateur who’s won a couple fights, which is what that reality show is supposed to be about. It’d cool to see him actually train under someone who could teach him a thing or two about fighting in a ring.

Funny how after all the crap Dana White gave him about being a chump, he has been signed to fight on the show, which as we know, even losing cast members get an opportunity to join later It is just a back door way for the UFC to acquire Kimbo without losing face.

Personally, I think its good for the sport. Although I am not a Kimbo “fan”…I think it will do wonders for the fan base and bottom line RATINGS! To top off the TUF season, it will be house full of NFL players as well!
AWESOME! We can all bust on Zuffa and Dana White…but again, bottom line RATINGS!!!

I think it shows kimbo truly wants to be a fighter. Because this guy is going on there to fight for free!!! When he was making all that money fighting for elite xc. He could have got another freek show fight with big $$$$ involed but instead he is fighting for free to try to get in the ufc.

I’d say he will be leaving after his first fight.
In my opinion he is overrated even by his haters.
He beat losers on the street (kimbo makes the rules for his street fights) and still lost to Sean Gannon.. are there any ufc fighters that wouldn’t annihilate these same guys ?
Then theres the 14 second loss to Seth Petruzelli.
I dont think he has a chance of winning but the best of luck to him.

I think its the perfect scenario.
My reasoning is that his skill level is still in question. So insted of just giving him a UFC fight, he gets a chance to earn one, just like everyone else. So we can essentiallly see if he belongs in the UFC without even giving him a UFC fight. So insted of giving Kimbo special treatment like Lesnar, and just throwing him in the UFC, he gets a chance to earn it.

well, whether he’s too old, washed up… not a good technical fighter.. etc. One thing remains true: We all are curious on how he’ll do in it. FOr this reason, Im for him being in the next season.
Sure Dana White half did it because Kimbo will help boost rating of the show.. but he also did it because if Kimbo somehow makes it thru, you know Dana White will then have a new cash cow in the UFC since most other big name fighters have left/retired.
It’ll be interesting- but I wouldnt think he’s make it through many heavyweight bouts.
One thing’s for sure tho.. the whole “living in the house together” portion of the show will be awesome to watch.

Kimbo has two things going for him:
    1. name recognition and reputation
    2. punching power
His name and reputation are what garnered 6.5 million viewers on CBS for EliteXC. That is why Dana brought him on TUF. His MMA skills are limited at best, but he will always have a puncher’s chance of winning every fight.
In my opinion, he will get owned by a wrestler and pounded out. Rest assured, his first fight will be one of the last ones shown on TV. They’ll want to keep him around as long as possible to maximize the ratings potential.
If (big IF) Kimbo manages to make it to the TUF finale, it will generate huge ratings for Spike, and probably the highest ratings the UFC has ever seen. Even if he doesn’t make it to the finals, and wins a fight or two, there may be a chance he will earn a low level UFC contract, if he scores a sweet KO or two on the show.

I am so anti-kimbo because of all the idiots new to MMA that actually believe he was as good as EliteXC and YouTube videos were trying to make him. However, he has now gained my respect. He is doing it right and putting a lot on the line. I have a lot of respect for him now and really believe that this is a great way for him to learn and experience MMA the correct way.
Season 10 is going to be so funny. Rampage, Evans and Kimbo all say funny stuff and will be picking on each other the whole show.
Rumor has it that Satoshi Ishii, Marcus Jones and Rex Richards were at the auditions for TUF 10. If Satoshi Ishii really is in the house, which will be so awesome, Kimbo doesn’t have a chance.
This season all the heavyweights are in the house… their is no competition to get in the house. I think only because finding 32 heavyweights with some MMA background at the UFC level would be difficult.

all we can do is hope

The show is not about “unschooled amatures who have won a couple of fights.” Most of the better people on that show have been guys with at least a few years of fighting on the bigger small shows. Slice will be one of the least experienced fighters on the show, as well as one of the oldest. I don’t have any hate for him and hope he doesn’t get too embarrassed, but I believe it will be quite obvious that he doesn’t belong with a group of guys being considered for big league contracts.

Got something to say?
